Juliana Hirn
About
Juliana Hirn, Ed.S., CCC-SLP, is a doctoral candidate in Exceptional Education. The personal experiences with her own learning disabilities, lead her to the field of exceptional education, and she is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. She holds an Educational Specialist degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) from the University of Georgia. She is on her way to being a triple Knight, having previously earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in CSD from the University of Central Florida. She is an experienced speech-language pathologist (SLP) and scholar based in Orlando, FL. Juliana has been recognized by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as a Distinguished Early Career Professional and was honored as one of UCF's 30 Under 30 award recipients and Order of Pegasus inductees.

Mission
Juliana's mission is to create more efficient pathways for speech-language pathologists to understand and implement evidence-based practices for young (ages 0-8) language-based learners who struggle.
Research Interests
Juliana’s research interests include, but are not limited to: Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), reading and writing disabilities, keystroke and cognitive processes, eyetracking, accessibility, accommodations, advocacy, facial expression data, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for individuals with disabilities, language and literacy, dialogic reading, developmental delays, early intervention and literacy, Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH), DeafBlind, and American Sign Language.
